Hundegger to become joint stock company

Joining machinery maker changes legal form due to upcoming generation change

German manufacturer of joining machinery Hundegger, Hawangen, changes its legal form from a private limited company to a incorporated company by the name of Hans Hundegger AG. For this purpose, the share capital was increased to € 5 million from revenue reserves.

With this move, the company is preparing for a generational change which is upcoming in the next few years. The shares are to be held primarily by members of the family. In addition, employees are given the opportunity to subscribe for shares. With this, Hundegger intends to increase motivation and a sense of entrepreneurship among its employees, the company says.

Information in a relaxed atmosphere

 24.05.2014

(Hawangen) This year once again, Hundegger Maschinenbau GmbH offered visitors to its Innovation Days the opportunity to gain a close first-hand impression of modern timber processing technology at its finest in a relaxed atmosphere.

Around 500 visitors flocked to the Innovation Days in Hawangen, held this year on May 8 – 10. They were treated to a broad-based program of specialist lectures, demonstrations and technical discussions with the company’s staff. This year again, selected timber processing machinery was on show in three different halls. There were also specialists from a total of twelve software providers on hand to explain the ins and outs of the relevant software products. Visitors in need of refreshment had the opportunity to relax in the hospitality marquee and enjoy snacks and drinks served by the Swabian machine manufacturer. All in all, the perfect way for existing and new customers to find out about the latest developments in the world of mechanical timber processing.

Information in a relaxed atmosphere

Plenty of time for relaxed discussion

The demonstration program for this year's Innovation Days featured largely existing products. After all, this event is about more than just new developments. One of the benefits for visitors is that plenty of time is allowed for machine demonstrations and discussion with the available specialists in a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. This gives prospective buyers the chance to make up their minds at leisure about which machine would best fit their company's requirement profile.

Consistent with this concept was a choice of technical lectures provided by Hundegger to supplement the exhibition program. There was more valuable information and advice on offer at the central "Tool Marketplace" and also in Hall C, where Hundegger's own service experts and a total of twelve software suppliers were on hand to answer any questions posed by visitors.

Anyone with time to spare out of this busy schedule also had the chance to join one of the company tours taking place every two hours. A joinery plant being finalized for a customer in Japan brought home to visitors Hundegger's standing not only as a customer-oriented machine supplier in its own country but also as a global player with broad experience of international timber construction markets.

Facts and figures on the Japanese machine:

The machine has been customized specifically to the needs and special operational requirements of the customer. Due to the impressive frame length of 21.80 m, it has to be divided in the centre for container transport.

The joinery machine is capable of processing throughfeed cross sections of up to 300 x 1250 mm in any optional length, and is fitted with 30 processing units to comply with the specific requirements of Japanese timber construction.

  • 1 x undertable pivoting saw with 800 mm sawblade diameter
  • 1 x 5-axis universal mill
  • 1 x horizontal saw
  • 1 x 360° pivoting deep-hole drilling unit
  • 1 x turret mill with 4 milling or drilling tools
  • 2 x combi-supports with 6 drilling and milling units each
  • 1 x combi-support with 3 drilling and 2 milling units
  • 2 x slot cutters on the fence and operator side
  • 1 x blocking groove mill
